An historical video of the integrated village system pioneered by Dr. Ripley Fox in Farende Togo in 1988. This remote village participated in an experimental project growing spirulina. Solar panels charged batteries to drive paddlewheels. A small 100 m2 basin could grow enough to supplement the diet of 100 children a day. Pouring pond water through a screen, spirulina became a thick paste, then was loaded in a solar dryer. Dried algae was distributed at the health clinic.
