Herbs survive New York attorney general assault to emerge as strong category in 2015
It turns out it takes more than a politician hammering a handful of herbs to have an impact on the industry.
Even though New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman got himself plastered across the media when he went after four big retailers for selling adulterated versions of eight herbs—an accusation that later lost some oomph when the science behind it was questioned—the industry itself escaped any serious consequences. Sales for 2015 grew 7.7 percent, one of the strongest years in the past decade.
